All manner of things
By
Susie Finkbeiner

Description: After Annie Jacobson's brother Mike enlist as a medic in the Army in 1967, he mails her the address of their long lost father. If anything should happen to him in Vietnam, Mike says, Annie must let their father know. I Mike's absence, their father returns to face tragedy at home, adding an extra measure of complication to an already tense time.

My thoughts: I  fell in love with this book and the relationship between all family interaction.  My favorite part of the book was the consent communicate between Mike and his family while he is in Vietnam.  It makes me think about what it must have really been like during the war wondering and hoping for the next letter to arrive. That as a mother, father, sister or wife you would never hear The word's "So sorry! Your love one is not returning home! The book also brings out the story of Annie's family and her long lost father Frank. Frank decided to leave his family and didn't return till there was tragedy in the family.
It is a book of learning to forgive, and repairing extremely hard relationships. It is about having faith! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good down to earth book!

THE REVEAL OF "STAR OF PERSIA"
by
Jill Eileen Smith

Synopsis:In an effort to complete a war his father had planned to win, King Xerxes calls every governor, satrap, and official in his vast kingdom to his palace in Susa to strategize and feast. When they finally leave, he decides on one more week of frivolity, which ends in the banishment of his favorite wife, something he never intended to do. But when he discovers Esther, Xerxes is sure he has a second chance at happiness.

In her wildest dreams, Esther could never have imagined that she would end up as queen of Persia. Yet she knows better than to become complacent. Another of Xerxes's wives is vying for position, and his closest advisor has a deep and dangerous grudge against Esther's adoptive father. Caught in the middle of palace politics, Esther will find herself in an impossible position: risk her life or consign her people to annihilation.

With her impeccable research and her imaginative flair, Jill Eileen Smith brings to life the romantic, suspenseful, and beloved story of Esther, queen of Persia.
