Set the Stars alight

"Set the Stars Alight" by Amanda Dykes

When I was chosen to be on the launch team for "Set the Stars Alight" , I really didn't know what to expect. This wasn't a book I would normally read, but I was up to trying something new. I was so pleasantly surprised what a great storyline "Set the Stars Alight" had.

My thoughts: What a beautifully written story.  I could really see what a amazing writer Amanda Dkyes is. She was able to intertwine two different time periods into one gorgeous story. You see the different personality of all the characters, which were all likeable.  They had several beautiful quotes but below is my all time favorite . It is so thought provoking and I feel it summed up a lot of the book.

Synopsis: The magic of the past comes alive each night for the family of a watchmaker. Lucy Claremont fascination with the high seas begins, which leads to her looking for a lost ship as a adult. Here childhood friend Dashel and his knowledge of stars was needed to solve a puzzle.  Two hundred years earlier there are three lives that are altered when a shepherd rescues the son of a admiral. As they grow they are forever changed.

My favorite quote: "In a world as dark as ours, we --- that is, people ---- forget how to see the light. So we remind them by telling the truth, fighting the dark, pay attention ... setting the stars alight.  There are thinks shining brightly all along, if we will notice."

Recommendation: I will great love to share this book on several social media sites and friends.

Rating: I give this book a rating of a 5 out of 5

"Flying In Love" by Chalon Linton

What can I say about this book? I think amazing covers it!  Chalon Linton knows how to write a clean contemporary romance.  This is the first book by this author that I've read and I am looking forward to the next book.

Synopsis: Paige Hall happy ending may just be in sight. She has been dating her boyfriend for month's and she feels confident their relationship is going on the right direction until she catches him kissing another woman. Paige a speech therapist, puts everything into her work and gave up on men.  Till she ran into Jake Summers, a military pilot.

My thoughts: You might remember what your first love was like. You find your life revolving around that person. Sometimes it's your happily ever after and sometimes it's not. I felt the pain that Paige was going through and the development of a new, fresh relationship with Jake. "Flying in Love" has all the makings of a great book!  It pulled me in from the very first age. I love all the characters and how they develop in the book.  Some parts of the story made me cry, but the major made me laugh.

Rating: I give this book a 5 stars

I will love to recommend this book to family, friends and through social media.

What can happen when you read lips!

Dead Silence
By
Robin Caroll

What a great suspense novel. This is the first book by Robin Caroll I've read and I would love to read more.

Dead Silence is a great story. The character's are very likable and reading was easy to follow. "Dead Silence" is a fast read. The story got me hooked on the first chapter.

The story is about  Elisa Carmichael, a court sign language interpreter, who happens to read the lips of two guy's talking about killing a state Senator.  She was unable to report information to the FBI till the next day, which was to late.  The Senator happened to be her mother in law. What do you do? Turn to FBI agents or try to solve on you own. Then there's the possibility to use both. Read "Dead Silence" to see what is the outcome of this murder.

I recommend this to anyone who love a great suspense novel.

The Way Home

 "The Way Home"
By
Tessa Afsher

Synopsis - Enter the story of Ruth through a 6 week study. The story of Ruth is a wonderful tale of bravery, calling and God's provision. This story will come to life in a new ways as you dig deep in this 6 week bible study.

My thoughts  -  This happens to be one of the best bible study I've ever done!  Tessa Afsher "The Way Home " is a 6 week bible study of the story of Ruth.  This study brought the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz to life for me and  I hope will too for others.
I have studied the book of Ruth several times, but not like this.  Tessa Afsher brought new aspects that I never thought about. The study will have you looking at my relationship with God, your struggles to forgive other's, yourself and even God and doing the will of God. You see the strength of Ruth to leave everything she had known her whole life. I have to say that it was encouraging, soul searching, and a thought provoking study.

Favorite quote - Spend a moment in graditude. Not for blessings. For God himself. For who He is. For His commitment to you. (Tessa Afsher)

Recommendation - I would gladly recommend this bible study to others through Facebook, bookbud, Amazon, Goodreads and Barnes and Noble.

Rating - I will give this book a 5 out of 5
